What happened:

• In a busy year for both Fry and Hawking, the pair delegated to stand-ins Hugh Laurie and Christopher Reeve.

• Laurie won the toss and elected to do battle on the ping pong table.

• In a furious 7 rounds, Laurie thrashed Reeve mercilessly - leaving the former Superman sweating, covered in dribble, with a buckled wheel, bad hair and a severe case of lock jaw.

Winner: Laurie took the belt home to Fry’s West London love nest where they mounted in the bedroom.
